Irish Open Championships
Once again the Curamdecara squad distinguished themselves at the Irish Open Karate Championships in Dublin on Sunday 12th Feb . Aoife Burke and Renee Collins were dropped in at the deep end and even though they were eliminated both these girls gained invaluable experience and did enough to show that they have a bright future.
Our experienced members continue to improve and showed their international class with
Siofra Ryan winning a Bronze Medal for U 12 Kumite against much taller opponents .
Rebbecca O Donnell won 2 Bronze medals for U 12 Kata and Kumite
Ciara Wyse achieved her 2nd national title taking Gold for the U17 Kumite .
Congratulations to William Brown ,Teresa Griffin and Deborah O Donnell who ably managed and coached the team and this allowed Liam Senior to do some refereing . Not forgetting Julie Wyse , Michael ,Aine , and Nollaig O Donnell for travelling to support the team
This was another stepping stone in our preparations for the W.U.K.F. World Championshipis which take place next October in Serbia and its great to see that our standards continue to improve . Well done everyone .
